COACHES MEETINGS Regular Season - Hot Shots, Jumpers, Div II - III, Middle School & High School Wednesday, December 16, 5:30 p.m. City Wide Community Center Parents & Guardians There are 3 options when you involve your children in youth sports, all three options are incredibly important Option 1: Volunteer Coach Option 2: Officiate Option 3: Be a Fan and a parent All of these roles have their own responsibilities and challenges, but in order to do your role to the best of your ability, you need to trust that everyone else will execute their role. • Coaches: Leave your parenting hat on the sideline, you have made a commitment to the entire team and should be providing all players with the same attention. Please also keep in mind that some of our officials are still learning as well, they will make mistakes. Without them, we would not be able to play games. Set the tone with your team that the official is always right. When you disagree with a call, you cannot let that show to your players. You are a role model, and they will follow your lead. • Officials: You will make mistakes. At any point during the game, half of the people will disagree with you. You cannot let that affect you, your job is to call a fair game and make sure everyone is participating safely. • Parents and Fans: Please leave the coaching and officiating to the people in those roles. Your job is to support and encourage your young athletes. To Avoid Class Cancellation Be An Early Bird! Register at least 7 days prior to the start date to avoid class cancellation!
